ABOUT US

Artslighthouse was founded in 2008 with the intention to create a hub for artists from all over the word to work together and inspire each other. Our residency has accommodated over 40 different courses and workshops, including a groups as far as from Harvard university.

Artslighthouse was started as a family business by Judit Kollo - designer, Dorottya Kollo - game designer, Daniel Slater - software engeneer, Miklos Kollo - renowned theater director, and Eva Preisinger - choreographer and former head of Budapest's largest district's cultural institute.

Why here?

Artslighthouse is located in the valley of Val in Tabajd; a small historic village located 45km from Budapest.The idillic countryside provides a great escape to reconnect with our inner thoughts. Besides its peaceful nature, the location is also known for its special micro climate that has been said to have healing effect on the body.

The village of Tadajd was founded in 1228 and has a rich history, with many local sites of interest.

ACCOMODATION

Artslighthouse can offer on-site accommodation for up to 18 guests. Each of our guests will be accommodated in a twin room with en-suite bathrooms. The teachers of the course will have their own guest apartment.Artslighthouse also provides 3 meals a day, which includes a continental all you can eat breakfast, a 2 course hot lunch and a 1 course hot dinner.(**Any allergies or diet preferences should be noted upon application) We also invite our guest for some seasonal home grown organic goods such as fruits, vegetables, fresh qual and chicken eggs. Guests can also take advantage of the following on-site entertainments

  • Drive on the M7 turn off at exit with an OMW petrol station and follow to Rakoczi ut. Drive until you get to Tabajd village, our premesis is on the left.
